Program Outcomes

A student who graduated from TEDU Sociology Department;

  • Has the knowledge of the basic theories and concepts of sociology and can use this knowledge at different levels.
  • Has the knowledge of the application and methods of the sociological method and he/she can apply it.
  • Understands the place of sociology among other disciplines and its relations with other disciplines and recognizes mutual contributions and limitations.
  • Produces interdisciplinary knowledge on national and global issues that concern different societies.
  • Can generate questions and hypotheses and evaluate research findings through analytical, critical and creative thinking from the sociology knowledge he/she has.
  • Reaches, evaluates and uses information in line with his/her purpose by using printed and electronic resources and databases.
  • Takes responsibility and initiative and cooperates in order to create improvement in professional fields of activity and to find solutions to problems.
  • Has the basic level measurement, evaluation and interview skills in order to work in professional activity areas.
  • Learns, analyzes and explains the basics of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
  • He/she can follow his/her interest and curiosity in his/her personal and professional development and convey it with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can follow the literature in Turkish and English in the field of sociology and transfer it with effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Respects individual (such as age, gender, ethnic identity, religion and sexual orientation) and cultural differences and can approach without prejudice.
  • Uses necessary software, techniques and tools for education, measurement, evaluation and data analysis in sociology.
  • Observes and acts in accordance with social, scientific and ethical values ​​in research and evaluation and in all of his/her professional activities.
